Punch Card Details
If you don't know how to work with graphics and you're
wondering how you can use this program, here's how.....
When you purchase your card design, you will actually
receive a set of cards - not just one. The number of cards you
receive will depend on the number of "punches" it takes to fill your
card. For example: if you decide that your card terms are to
be, "buy 10 candles and get one free", then you will receive 11 cards in
your set. One that is blank, one that has been "punched" once, one
that has been "punched" twice, one that has been "punched" three times,
etc. You will issue the blank card first. When the customer
makes another purchase, they will email the blank card to you. If
they have purchased one candle, you will then email the card with one
"punch" back to them. If they ordered two candles, you will email
the card with two "punches" back to them and so on. It will be
their responsibility to keep up with the most recent card, just like a
face-to-face customer would have to keep up with their paper card.
You won't have to keep up with the number of punches they have since
they will be emailing you their most recent card and you can see the
number of punches it has. The only kind of record you'll need to
keep is a list of the people you've issued cards to. That way, you
won't send them multiple new cards and you'll be able to record when
they have redeemed a card. This simple list will be a part of the
way you make sure no one shares their card or re-uses it, but I'll give
you those details with your order.
Now, about your "punch". It will be a graphic
stamp that co-ordinates with the design on your card. Here is my
own website's card, so you can see what it looks like blank and
partially punched. This will also help you understand how the set
of cards works.
First, the blank card:

This is a card with 3 punches (see the little graphic
over the first 3 $10 marks):

My set of cards would contain
6 cards. Since you decide what the terms of your card are, the
number of cards in your set may be different than the examples I've
given. That's all there is to it! See? I
told you it was easy! :)
